Ta’amu, Whittaker honored

If the Spokane Shock were looking for additional motivation heading into tonight's ArenaBowl, they might find an easy source with the All-AFL awards. After getting blanked in the eight top player/coach awards released Tuesday-Thursday, the Shock had two players recognized with the release of the All-AFL first- and second-teams Friday.

Lineman Ed Ta'amu was named to the first team and receiver Huey Whittaker made second team.

Tampa Bay, Spokane's opponent tonight, had five players selected, tying Tulsa and Chicago for the most. Four other teams had at least three players honored. Chicago and Tulsa each had three first-team seelctions. Four Tampa Bay players made second team.
