Shock leave no doubt in ArenaBowl

The Spokane Shock finished off the Arena Football League season in style Friday, thumping Tampa Bay 69-57 in ArenaBowl XXIII at the Arena.

The Shock earned the AFL title in their first season in the league, which returned from a one-year absence in 2009. Spokane did the same thing in the franchise's inaugural arenafootball2 season, winning the 2006 ArenaCup.

You can read my game story here and my sidebar on Shock majority owner Brady Nelson missing the game to have an emergency appendectomy. Here's a game story I filed for the Tampa Tribune and another in the St. Petersburg Times by the S-R's John Blanchette.
