Cowen coming back

After the Ottawa Senators beat Tampa Bay 3-1 in a NHL exhibition game in Regina Monday night, the Sens announced they were returning their first-round draft pick - ninth overall - Jared Cowen back to his junior team, which is the Spokane Chiefs. Cowen should be in the lineup on Saturday when the Chiefs (1-0-0-1) play their home opener against the Tri-City Americans (1-0-0-0). Cowen last played for the Chiefs in January when he suffered a serious knee injury that required major reconstructive surgery. The final phase of his rehab was done in Ottawa, which played him in two exhibition games and deemed him healthy enough to return to action.
