Franks signs with CFL team

Defensive back Stanley Franks, a key component on Spokane's 2009 ArenaCup championship team, has signed with the B.C. Lions practice squad. The Lions have two games remaining and are in the CFL playoff hunt. Franks isn't expected to play in the team's next game.

Franks, a former Idaho Vandal, had a team-high 97.5 tackles, 18 pass break-ups and eight interceptions during the regular season. He also picked off a pass and returned it 48 yards for a touchdown in the Shock's 74-27 rout of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the title game.
