In an email from Cheryl Haskins to the church about the sudden passing of her husband and pastor Aaron Haskins Monday morning.

The former Washington State basketball player was the subject of a Then and Now in the Spokesman-Review Dec. 23, 2008.

Keep reading for the note from Cheryl Haskins.

From Pastor Cheryl Haskins

Very sad and tragic news. My wonderful husband of 29 years, Aaron Haskins, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep this morning at about 4am.

He was a wonderful and loving husband, an amazing father of three, and grandfather of four.

A fabulous Pastor, a faithful brother to eight siblings, loving son, a mean saxophone player.

He was an inspiration to so many people around the world.

In many ways he was larger than life and leaves a truly great legacy for others to follow.

We have created an online memorial to keep everyone abreast of coming details regarding his viewing and memorial service.

We ask that you keep the Haskins family in your prayers and appreciate your respect for our privacy during this difficult time.
