Chiefs’ goalie honored
The Western Hockey League announced today that Spokane Chiefs goalie James Reid is the Husky WHL Player of the Month for November.
The 19 year-old
goaltender went unbeaten in regulation time through the month,
posting 10 wins and one over-time loss, which included an eight game win streak
and three shut-outs. Reid recorded a 1.090 goals-against
average and a 0.964 save percentage, allowing just 12 goals on 335 shots
in 662 minutes played, averaging just over 30 shots a game. The Chiefs are home against Seattle on Friday. Reid, originally from
Calgary, Alberta, is in his second full season with the Spokane Chiefs, spending
last year playing behind one of the WHL’s best in Dustin Tokarski. He was
drafted by the Everett Silvertips in the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft and signed as a
free agent with the Spokane Chiefs in April 2007.
