Panthers, Bears have a date
Thursday night Mead football coach Sean Carty said he and CV's Rick Giampietri had been kiddingly e-mailing each other rooting for their opponents in order to avoid a tiebreaker for third place.
The Panthers had done all they had set out to do, "except beat CV - because we didn't play them," Carty said.
The time has come for the two to meet. Tuesday, 6 p.m. at Albi, a Kansas tiebreaker will determine which team plays for a state berth against the Columbia Basin League champion and which plays its 10th game as part of the GSL-CBL 10th game crossover series.
