Fuel gel for decorative firepots being recalled
If you have a decorative firepot that uses pourable fuel gel, take note. According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the product sold under the names NAPAfire and FIREGEL is being recalled after dozens of accidents have been reported. Apparently if the gel is poured into a firepot that is still burning it can ignite and splatter on anything nearby, including people. The product was available at stores like Bed Bath and Beyond and Shopko, as well as online at amazon.com. The recall applies to product sold between December 2009 and June 2011. The manufacturer is offering full refunds to customers who return the fuel gel to the store where it was purchased. For more information click here.
