Spokane Valley Fire Department Chief Mike Thompson was just named the 2011 Fire Chief of the Year.  The fire department's arson dog, Mako, visited the Spokane Valley City Council meeting this week to give a change of pace to the gathering. So check out your paper tomorrow and start reading.
