If you have driven by the intersection of Indiana and Sullivan this morning, you already know what one of the stories from Saturday's Valley Voice was about. The intersection will be under construction for the next six weeks. Sullivan is down to one northbound lane and one southbound lane. Turns onto east or west Indiana will be limited at times. Broadway is also having some work done between Park Road and Pines Road, which means lane closures and delays.

Reporter Lisa Leinberger visited the West Valley Outdoor Learning Center, which is having some rare open houses this month so the public can stop by and meet the birds, snakes and turtles. After some debate, the Spokane Valley City Council narrowly rejected setting the speed limit on the new section of Indiana at 35 miles per hour.

Now that the temperatures are toasty, it's the perfect time to check out Mary Lou's Homemade Ice Cream and More on Evergreen. Fresh, locally grown fruit is used to make the chilly creations. They also plan to expand their menu to add burgers, wraps and sandwiches.
