Spin Control

Sunday Spin 2: Where’d my ballot go?

A loyal reader sent an e-mail last week with an inquiry worth noting.

“Dear Mr. Spin Control Man,

I put my ballot in the mail last week . . . Is there any way for me to track my ballot and find out if it made it safely to the county election office?”

Signed, A paranoid voter.”

Dear APV,

Yes, you can track your ballot online. In Spokane County, you can go to  the special Track Your Ballot feature on the county elections page.“Track your ballot” icon. Anyone in Washington can go to the Secretary of State’s website.

It should be noted that these ballot trackers only work a day or two after you’ve mailed your ballot or deposited it in a drop box. If it arrived a week or so ago in the mail, you put it somewhere and now can’t find it, they ain’t gonna help.

Signed, Mr. Spin Control Man.

If you have more questions about the elections or the ballots, email Mr. Spin Control Man at jimc@spokesman.com. We’ll try to find an answer and post it on the blog.
