Governor, secretary of state debates in Spokane Wednesday

For those of you itching for the gubernatorial candidates to go at it, mano-a-mano, the first chance to see a matchup is Wednesday afternoon. Incumbent Jay Inslee and challenger Bill Bryant have their first debate at Spokane Falls Community College.

It’s part of a doubleheader debate sponsored by the Association of Washington Business, GSI and KHQ-TV. The undercard, to mix sports metaphors, is the Secretary of State race between incumbent Kim Wyman and challenger Tina Podlodowski. That one starts at 2:10 p.m. and with the gubernatorial gladiators at 4 p.m.

Tickets are scarce, but KHQ will be carrying the debates live on their SWX digital channel, and the station and The Spokesman-Review will be streaming them live on their websites. TVW will have them available online and on the air at some future date.

In a sense, this notice might be considered a shameless plug, because I'm moderating the secretary of state debate. KHQ's Sean Owsley is on tap to moderate the main event.
