Senate passes $38.2 billion operating budget

OLYMPIA -- The Senate passed a $38.2 billion budget for 2015-17 on a 38-10 vote.

After rejecting several amendments, it passed the budget that has been in the works for the 165 days of the extended legislative session. All five Spokane-area senators voted for the budget. Details on the budget can be found here.

The Senate then gave unanimous approval to a bill that spells out the tuition cuts in state-sponsored colleges and universities over the next two years.
