WaLeg Day 87: Lots of votes expected
OLYMPIA -- The Senate and House both have floor sessions today to vote on some of the many bills passed by various committees over the last few weeks.
Before noon, the Senate passed a House bill that requires DNA evidence in criminal cases to be preserved and retained for up to 99 years under some circumstances, or until the person convicted of the crime dies in others. It passed without amendment, so it's headed to Gov. Jay Inslee.
The Senate also passed a House bill outlawing "ticket bots" which allow some ticket resellers to buy up large numbers of tickets for sporting events or concerts before consumers can get them. It passed 49-0 with an amendment, and is headed back to the House where the original version passed 98-0.
Lists of bills to come up for a vote will be updated throughout the day.
Senate Ways and Means has a hearing on its capital budget proposal.
