Magazine subscription scam on South Hill
This just in from the Sheriff: On March 26, a South Hill resident made a Crime Check report referencing an individual that contacted her at her residence on Friday, March 23. The resident said a 17-18 year old male came to her residence and said he was selling magazine subscriptions for a fundraiser benefiting the Ferris High School soccer team. The resident gave the young man a $55 check happy to support her local high school.
On Monday the resident found out Ferris was not involved in any type of fundraiser for the soccer team...
Sheriff's Office investigators contacted the Spokane Office of the Better Business Bureau. They researched Blue Diamond Subscriptions and found there had been a complaint made to the Phoenix Office of the BBB reference this company. The Phoenix office of the BBB attempted to contact Blue Diamond two times without any success.
The local Office of the BBB has initiated an investigation into this alleged business as they are not registered in Washington State through the Secretary of the State.
