"I came home during my sophomore year of college over Memorial Day for the first time since Christmas, and my cat was super excited to see me. She wouldn't leave me alone for the first day I was home.

"I woke up the next morning and put my shoes on and walked to the end of the house, but my right foot felt funny. So I turned over my shoe and dumped it on the floor, only to watch a live mouse scurry out of it and out the door.

"It must have been a belated birthday gift from my kitty."
