Citizen’s arrest

I suppose if you got pulled over for something else and the police officer in question noted that you had studded tires on your vehicle after the deadline for removing them, you might get cited.

But I can't imagine it being a particular priority for law enforcement. So I have an idea.

Citizen's arrest. Yes, just like the hollering Gomer Pyle chasing Barney Fife after he made a U-turn in "The Andy Griffith Show."

Citizen's arrest. For when you hear the grinding roar of studded tires on dry pavement.

Citizen's arrest. For when it's 50 degrees and roads are clear.

I'll leave it to someone else to figure out the details and how to handle it when the arrestee starts shooting. But certainly this is a concept in community policing worth exploring.
