Planning to attend Paul Turner’s birthday party

So Paul Turner's wife was kind enough to invite me to his birthday party.

It's this weekend.

Yes, we have the same name. Even the same middle initial.

I have communicated with Paul a couple of times over the years. Enough to know I like him.

So I am looking forward to meeting him in person.

There's one more thing we have in common. We are the same age. Well, at least for a few more hours. Then Paul -- or "Paul Sr." as I like to call him -- will be on record as being older, at least for a few months.

So you may be assured my humor stylings at the party will include a healthy dose of age references.

My specific plan? Glad you asked.

I think the party is outside. So I am going to wait until Paul starts to get up out of a lawn chair. Then I intend to swoop in with a "Let me help you up, sir."

I don't know why that prospect amuses me so. But it does.
