The Slice

What part of “Have Fare Ready” do they not understand?

I wouldn't want to judge before all the facts are in.

But it's beginning to look as if the STA's multiple signs saying "Have Fare Ready" are not reaching all bus riders.

Some people still climb on the bus and seem surprised that they have to pay. Even if they are daily riders.

How's that for a learning curve?

I know. It's just like the benighted folks at the supermarket who seem incapable of anticipating the need to produce a checkbook or debit card.

This wouldn't be worth mentioning if not for the fact it challenges the notion that riding the bus is a relaxing experience. It can be, of course. But not if you are sitting there watching the time-wasting antics of someone who didn't have his or her fare ready.
