A friend who has been in my column and in this blog multiple times shared this.

"My son wears Gonzaga University T-shirts on a pretty much daily basis (this son is both a PhD educated scientist and GU basketball fanatic). Two years ago, when he and his wife were expecting, they went to an ultrasound appointment in another western state where the tech looked at his shirt and said, 'Gazonga, where's that?'

"'It's Gonzaga,' he corrected her (a bit tersely, if I had to guess), 'in Spokane, Washington.'

"'Is that a high school?' He was not amused.

"At this point, my daughter-in-law almost fell off the exam table laughing.

"Naturally, he received a 'Go Gazonga' pillow for Christmas."
