The Slice

Flunking U.S. geography

Craig Heimbigner shared this.

"So we were visiting Texas along with our young niece and in a restaurant she saw a map on the wall of the United States.

" 'Oh, my God,' she squealed, 'Look how close we are! Can we go to Hawaii?'

"The map had an inset of the state of Hawaii placed in the Gulf of Mexico just off Texas."

Here's one from Blake Ballard.

"Recently my wife and I flew to Asheville, North Carolina from Spokane with connections in Salt Lake City and Atlanta. When checking into a motel near the Asheville airport at 11:30 at night, I commented to the motel clerk 'Long day, we just came from Spokane Washington today.'

" ' Wow,' he said, 'That's a long drive.'"

And here's one from Michael Paul.

His wife was leaving a job in Florida and moving to Oregon.

One of her co-workers there in Florida declared that, since she would be taking a trip to Michigan in the near future, she might just stop off along the way and visit Michael's wife in Oregon.
