The Slice

The birds don’t always win

Don Price added to The Slice's inventory of bird stories.

"About 25 years ago while living in California, two crows (Heckle and Jeckle) took great pleasure in tormenting my black Chow dog Misty. They would take turns flying within a few feet of her snout while the other crow would steal her dog food.

"This went on for about a month before I grew weary of the growling and barking. Living in a rural area, I took my shotgun and knocked one of the crows out of the sky. Misty had the crow before it hit the ground. In less than 10 seconds my yard was covered in black feathers. The other crow was never seen again."
