The Slice

Possibly the last autograph story I’ll share

"Having grown up in Carlisle, PA, I learned of the history and fame surrounding The Carlisle Indian School when I was a youngster," wrote Sam Riddlesberger. "The year I graduated from Carlisle High School (1952) my dad was president of the Rotary Club. He invited Jim Thorpe to speak with the club and asked me to join him at the luncheon in Jim's honor.

"After the meeting I asked for his autograph. He shook my hand and signed his business card for me. It was a very memorable moment."
