There are, of course, two kinds of people.

Those who, as midnight approaches on New Year's Eve, know exactly who they will be kissing when the clock strikes 12. And then there are those for whom New Year's Eve holds a bit of mystery.

Whose lips will help you ring in 2017?

Sometimes it's a last-second thing. In a crowd, it can be more a matter of proximity than planning.

Maybe it's not a big deal. But some might argue that first kiss of the new year is a tone setter.

So here's hoping you wind up smooching someone special.
