Hearing back from “THE ANSWER MAN”

Margie Gannon of Saint Maries came across this.

It was in a cookbook she had been given by an elderly friend not long before that lady passed away.

Margie sent it to me, noting that she does not need it back. "Not tanning hides at this point."

You see, that was the subject of the correspondence between the addressee and the S-R's Answer Man.

Sort of sounds like a bookish superhero, doesn't he?

Wish we still had envelopes like that. I might even be tempted to send a real letter now and then.

Funny how The Chronicle Building doesn't seem to exist, though. OK, it's a really old image of the Review Tower. But if you'll note the postmark, you can see this was 1966. I'm quite sure The Chron was there, somewhere in the mists of time.

But I suspect Chronicle stationery returned the favor by disappearing the Review Tower.
