The Slice

The story of Marie and her Stingray

On its way to reincarnation.
On its way to reincarnation.

An email arrived from Marie Jurgensen of Spokane Valley.

"In December, 1972, I picked up my shiny new 1973 Corvette that I had ordered six months prior. Oh, the thrill of driving my blue beast, even if it did seem to be a cop magnet -- they usually just wanted to look at the car! But, in later years, as I aged, gravity became my enemy and it became harder and harder to get out of the car. Getting in was no problem since I could just 'fall' in. So in November, 2014, with only a few heart strings breaking, I sold my beloved to a friend's son who was only 15 at that time -- a teenager's dream! The car has been taken down to its nuts and bolts and rebuilt for a new life where, hopefully, many more good memories will be made.

"The photo is from the day they loaded her on the flatbed to take her away.

"My current transportation is a 1993 Dodge Caravan, bought new. My husband still drives his 1989 Ford truck which we bought new. Yes, we hang on to our vehicles."
