Here I am with my friend Bill Reichert.

Bill lives in North Idaho but works in Spokane when he isn't telecommuting.

He is a great guy.

We had not met in person until this morning. But I have come to know Bill as a bright, positive presence in my electronic inboxes. It was good to get to shake his hand.

I still have occasion to think about a finish-this-sentence answer he sent me for my column last spring.

"One knows he may no longer be young and rockin' when...he bends over to tie his shoes and looks around to see if there is anything else he can do while he's down there."
