People have been discussing this for weeks now.

And it seems inevitable that a few hundred people here will dress up as the former NAACP chapter head.

That seems like free speech. But when will it cross a line?

I suppose that if the costume pokes fun at her, that's cool. But if the real target is something else? Well, that could be a different matter.

Halloween is no stranger to questionable taste. But this seems like an invitation for people whose hearts are not in the right place to use purported humor as a mask for something ugly.
