The Slice

Blaming your issues with ice skating on “weak ankles”

Today's Slice column was about ice skating.

And several readers responded with stories of trying to learn to skate. A few respondents suggested "weak ankles" were to blame for their problems.

If I had to venture a guess, I would say that's not likely. But you hear that over and over. And over.

It is the sacred mantra of nonskaters.

The truth is, if your skates are of reasonable quality your ankles should be just fine.
