You can't tell from this picture, but my friend Kenyon Fields is wearing pants.

I mention that because you might have seen him in his kilt, which he wears as a drummer for a popular Spokane pipe band.

I like Kenyon. He has a good heart and a keen eye for Slice-esque observations.

He has been sending me material for years, for which I am grateful.

Here's an item that ran on Dec. 7, 2009.

"They're dead, Jim": Kenyon Fields said those deflated blow-up Christmas figures you see in front yards remind him of a "Star Trek" episode in which some unfortunates got zapped and only their crumpled uniforms remained.
