The Slice

“Entering Bacon Belt”

Those who arrive downtown early already know this.

Well, at least those who are outside near The Davenport when the hotel's kitchen is venting breakfast-prep fumes in the dark.

Being near the hotel can involve inhaling aromas that can mess with your head.

For instance, the bacon smell was so pronounced this morning that it was hard to stay focused on getting to work.

So perhaps some sort of warning sign might be in order. You know, "Bacon Fumes Ahead: Please Find Alternate Route."

Or something.

Maybe the EPA ought to look into it. I mean, really. How many parts per million of pork grease can the atmosphere take before it is hazardous?
