Talking the talk

Everybody knows that lots of people talk to their indoor plants.

But how many of us talk to insects that have taken up residence on those plants?

Surely I am not alone.

I would bet some even name the bugs. Call them Charlotte, maybe. 

Of course, my one-sided conversations are based on the assumption that a certain tiny spider is a beneficial presence. If I thought it meant harm to the indoor/outdoor 2011 poinsettia that is its home, I would have to take steps.

But I prefer to think of the arachnid and the plant as pals.
