Claudene Uttke isn't fond of the movie "A Christmas Story."

"I hate that thing," she said.

Growing up in Hillyard, her name was Claudene Bumpus. And, in the aforementioned film, a family named Bumpus is portrayed in an unflattering way.

Uttke said that in her own real-life Spokane story, everyone knew the Bumpuses were great neighbors.
