The risk re: online searches for people you knew

I'm sure I have mentioned this before.

But it remains depressingly true.

Sometimes Googling someone you knew long ago presents you with that person's obituary.

Case in point. I knew Jon Hicks when we worked together in Tucson.

He was an outsized personality. But I liked him.

I went to his wedding in Washington, D.C. I went to spend a weekend with him when he lived in Cleveland.

And for a while, we sort of kept in touch,

But I think we spoke just a couple of times after I moved to Spokane.

I was sorry to see this.
