The Slice

Getting exercise in the winter

I will keep riding my bike to work as long as the streets are not icy.

(Yes, it was brisk this morning.)

But eventually I am going to need to find another form of exercise until early spring. (Tomorrow's Slice column is about one possibility.)

I go ice skating now and then. But that doesn't really provide much of a workout. It's not like I'm doing line drills, after all.

Maybe my best bet would be to take advantage of the stairs here at the Review Tower. If I got up from my desk several times a day and walked the stairs from the basement to the 7th floor, that might be more than enough.

We'll see. So what do you do for exercise at this time of year?
