Another day, another level 3 sex offender registers as a transient in Spokane County.
For the fourth time since May 27, the Spokane County Sheriff's Office has announced that a sex offender considered likely to reoffend will be living a transient lifestyle.
The latest is James D. McMurtrey, 21, (left) who was convicted of incident liberties with a 5-year-old girl in 2003 in Spokane County. He's under supervision by the state Department of Corrections.
Also announced today is a level 3 sex offender who moved to the 2200 block of North Calispel St. in the Emerson Garfield Neighborhood in Spokane.
Jeffrey R. Evans, 22, (right) was convicted of second-degree child rape in 2001 and of indecent liberties with forcible compulsion in 2004. His victims were a 6-year-old male relative and a 12-year-old female family friend, according to the Sheriff's Office. Evans is being supervised by the state Department of Corrections.
McMurtrey and Evans are level 3 sex offenders, the classification considered most likely to reoffend.
Neither is wanted by law enforcement, but authorities want the public to be aware of their presence.
