Man wanted for passing fake money

At about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 3rd, a man entered the GTX Truck Stop at 18723 E. Cataldo and used a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase scratch lottery tickets.  He was described as a white male in his 50’s who had a beard. 

    On the following Thursday, a man entered the Shell convenience store at 13823 E. Broadway and used a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase $50 in scratch lotto tickets.  He was given $50 in change. 

    The employee in the second theft described the suspect as a white man in his 40’s who was about 5’04” tall and balding.  He estimated his weight at about 165 pounds. 

    Officers who examined the counterfeit bills described them as looking very authentic.

A man passed counterfeit $100 bills at two store last week, and detectives are looking for help identifying him.

The man used one bill to buy lottery scratch-it tickets at the GTX Truck Stop, 18723 E. Cataldo, on Feb. 3 at 2:30 p.m.

The next day, the man used another $100 bill to buy $50 of scratch-it tickets. The man has been described as in his 40s or 50s, balding and with a beard.

One witness said he appeared about 5-foot-4 and 165 pounds. Surveillance video at one of the businesses captured the above photo of the man.
