OUTDOORS -- A series of "outdoors camps" that introduce young teenagers to life-time outdoor skills and activities is scheduled by Spokane Parks & Recreation Department. 

The teen outdoor camps range from being specific to activities such as water sports and mountain biking to being a more general introduction to a variety of outdoor adventure sports.

Here's the Parks and Rec list of what's scheduled. Scholarship application is attached.

Teen Outdoor Adventures Camps

1 Week | Ages 12-15 Outdoor fun at your teen's fingertips!

Team building, canoeing, rafting, kayaking, hiking, stand up paddleboarding, climbing, biking, disc golf, environmental learning and more! Each outing will offer an opportunity for each to co-lead 'by choice'. The instructors are there to help build leadership, decision making & thinking skills. We want to provide your teens with new outdoor experiences while building self-confidence, self-respect and a sense of responsibility for themselves, the community and the environment. Bring a lunch and water bottle each day. Sign your child up for three or more camps and received 10% off. Riverside State Park Bowl and Pitcher Picnic Shelter. Parent packet emailed after registration $219 No camp on 4th of July.

Bike Skills & Riding Adventures!

Bring your mountain bike and join us for a fun week of riding around the local trails and parks! Learn new riding skill including; minor repairs, rules of the road, courtesy and stewardship, mountain bike skills, map reading and more. During the rides we will stop for some very fun outdoor activities. Helmets & Bicycle required. Scholarships available.

All Adventures Week!

This camp is all about the excitement and variety of outdoor adventure! We will be hiking, biking, kayaking, rafting, stand up paddleboarding, disc golfing, rock climbing, learning survival in the woods and participating in teambuilding activities. This camp will be one to remember! No camp on 4th of July. Scholarships available.

Wild & Wacky Water Adventures!

It's getting hot out, so let's get into some water action adventures. We will be kayaking, canoeing, rafting, paddleboarding as well as swimming at the aquatic centers. Bring swimming gear! Scholarships available.
