FISHING -- A 23-pound mackinaw and a 17-pound rainbow will take the top prizes in the 70th annual Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club's K&K Spring Fishing Derby which concluded Sunday.

The annual event started April 29 offering more than $18,000 in cash and prizes in several divisions for rainbow and mackinaw.

Vali Moore of Athol, Idaho, won the adult rainbow division with a 17.36-pound fish measuring 34.5 inches, according to the unofficial results released this morning by the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club.

Scott Plue of Sandpoint won the mackinaw division with a fish weighing 23.34 pounds and measuring 35 inches.

Jackson Sifford, hometown unreported, topped the youth anglers with an an impressive rainbow weighing 15.90 pounds and measuring 33.25 inches long.

The Annual Spring Derby Awards Ceremony will be Saturday, 7 p.m., at Bonner Mall in Ponderay, Idaho.
