Introduce yourself to outdoor sports at Spokatopia

OUTDOORS -- Spokatopia -- a festival gathering of outdoors enthusiasts letting visitors "test drive" their sports -- isn't until July 8, but now's the time to preregister for some of the most popular clinics, which are known to fill.

What: Spokatopia – demos, clinics, vendors for road and mountain biking, paddleboarding, rock climbing, paddling, geocaching, disc golf, yoga and more.

Where: Camp Sekani Park and Boulder Beach on the Spokane River off Upriver Dr. east of Upriver Dam.

When: Saturday, July 8, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.

Cost: General admission, free. One-time demo fee, $5. Outdoor adventure clinics, $8-$20. Preregister online.

Parking shuttle: Park at Pasadena Elementary (one mile east of Camp Sekani on Upriver Dr.) or Shields Park/Minnehaha (west of Sekani on Upriver Dr.) and catch a van shuttle running every 15 minutes. Parking at Sekani will fill fast. Consider bicycling to the venue on the Centennial Trail.
