BLM seeks volunteers to spruce up Blue Creek Bay

PUBLIC LANDS -- Volunteers are needed for a work party at Blue Creek Bay Recreation Area east of Coeur d'Alene on Thursday, Sept. 22, to celebrate National Public Lands Day.

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is organizing the service project for planting trees and shrubs, maintaining trails, improving the kiosk and cleaning up the site.

  • Location:  Conservation Area trailhead, 2 miles northwest of the Wolf Lodge exit off I-90
  • Time:  9 a.m. to noon

Across Idaho, the BLM expects hundreds of volunteers and partners to take part in National Public Lands Day events.

BLM also is celebrating the agency's 70thanniversary.
