Lake Pend Oreille Fall Fishing Derby early leaders listed

FISHING -- After two days of fishing, a 17-pound rainbow and a 19-pound mackinaw lead the board in the 2016 Lake Pend Oreille Fall Fishing Derby.  But there's a lot of fishing still to be done.

The annual event sponsored by the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club started Saturday and runs through Nov. 23 with break for Thanksgiving Day before concluding with three more days of competition on Nov. 25-27.

Anglers are competing for more than $10,000 in cash and prizes.

Here are the standings as of Sunday night, Nov. 20, 2016.
 
Adult Rainbow:
  • Jim Carouthers - 17.46 lbs.  32.5 in.
  • Brady Stewart - 11.08 lbs.  29.5 in.
  • Dietmar Krueger - 9.84 lbs. 32 in.
  • Don Salter - 9.44 lbs.  27 in.
  • Richard Johnson - 7.32 lbs. 26 in.
Adult Mackinaw:
  • Gale Belgarde Jr. - 18.84 lbs. 36 in.
  • Salley Kalb - 16.70 lbs. 37 in.
  • Art Webb - 16.50 lbs. 33 in.
  • Nathan Hanson - 13.50 lbs. 32.75 in.
  • Jim Carouthers - 9.96 lbs. 30 in.
