Low flows force jet boat races from Grande Ronde to Snake River

RIVERS-- The third phase of the World Jet Boat Races originally scheduled for Friday, May 27, on the Grande Ronde River has been changed to run the Snake River near Lewiston.  The water levels had dropped too low for safety on the Ronde, organizers say.

The race officials say:

Safety of our race teams and spectators is our number one priority. Due to river flow level and safety concerns, we will not be racing the Grand Ronde River on Friday, May 27th....

We have revised the race schedule for tomorrow, Friday, May 27th. Beginning at 10am, teams will race from Hells Gate State Park to Bear Bar. They will race back from Bear Bar at 12:30pm. Make plans to watch these teams as they compete for the world title!

Previous races in the series were held recently on the St. Joe and Coeur d'Alene rivers.
