HIKING -- David Taylor came down from the blooming glacier lilies on the peak south of Lake Pend Oreille and sent in this report for fellow hikers on the conditions of Chilco Mountain Trail 14.

Walked it from Bunco Road to top of North Chilco.  Someone or some organization put a lot of effort into cutting out of the trail all the down timber from last years wind storm.  There was one log down across the trail at the trailhead, otherwise all the trees had been cut out, all the way to the ridge top.

It would have been a long hike having to crawl over/under/around all the trees that had been down over the trail.

Only one small snow bank on north side of mountain.  Appeared that there was some snow in tree area of top of South Chilco Mountain.
