WATERSPORTS -- The Alberton Gorge stretch of the Clark Fork River between Cyr and Tarkio Fishing Access Sites will reopen today, Sept. 4, after being closed because of wildfire activity.

Floaters should be prepared for fire suppression helicopters that are still dipping water from the river just below the Fish Creek confluence.   Buoys are in place to mark dip spots, and staff will be on site at Cyr access to brief floaters about helicopter activity.

Although Cyr and Tarkio Fishing Access Sites are open for launching and taking out boats, Triple Bridge, Ralph’s Takeout and Middle and Lower Osprey sites remain closed due to nearby fire activity and suppression efforts.
