Swimmer strokes across 34-miles of Lake Pend Oreille

LAKES -- Escorted by friends in boats on July 31, Elaine Kornbau Howley swam 34 miles across North Idaho's Lake Pend Oreille from Button Hook Bay on the south end of the lake to Sandpoint City Beach on the north end.

Elaine completed the swim under Channel Swimming Rules.
