In the space of just a week, two century-old Spokane companies that have been run by succeeding generations of the same families have been bought by Illinois corporations. First, Jensen Distribution, now Fidelity Associates.

Spokane-based Fidelity Associates Inc. and Fidelity Associates Financial Services Inc. have been acquired by Chicago insurance brokerage Hub International Ltd., the companies announced this week.

Fidelity, an insurance and employee benefits agency and brokerage, was founded in Spokane in 1906. It's in its fourth generation of Jones family ownership. President and CEO Scott Jones will keep those jobs and also become executive vice president of Hub’s northwest operations. His brother Craig Jones will continue with Hub Northwest in his current position of account executive. Fidelity will keep its Spokane office at 501 S. Bernard St., according to a news release.
