Business owners can get construction-survival tips at Thursday workshop

Spokane city officials are hosting an "“Open For Business: Making the Best of Rough Road Construction” workshop on Thursday, giving small business owners a way to cope with major road disruptions due this summer.

The workshop, 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the City Council Chambers in City Hall, is a partnership between the City and the Greater Spokane Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).  PRSA members are volunteering to help interested businesses.

The free workshop covers what to expect once construction begins, how to deal with customer communications during construction disruption, and how to use promotions to offset the impact.

The workshop will be recorded for later viewing on City Cable Channel 5.
