Dr. Pepper Late Model Series set for Saturday at SCR

The Inland Empire late model season gets underway on Saturday night as Spokane County Raceway hosts the Dr. Pepper Late Model Series featuring NASCAR champions Pete Harding, Gary Lewis and Garrett Evans along with defending series champion Erick Hargraves.

Spokane County Raceway super oval gets set for the first of four super late model racing this Saturday night. Track promoters Brycen and Sheri Tarr have been overwhelmed with driver inquiries about their first race of the season. With just days away from the Dr. Pepper Super Late Model opener pre entry has been the talk of the region, drivers from all over the Pacific Northwest will get set for the 100 lap showdown this weekend.

Well known drivers such as Garrett Evans from East Wenatchee, WA along with Gary Lewis from Echo Lake, WA and defending series champion Eric Hardgrave from Yakima, WA set their sights on Saturday night’s total purse up to $25,000.00. Andy Brown driver of the Zips Chevrolet who has been on a hot streak this season will be on hand with the field of other veteran drivers to collect a share of winnings this year. This season also brings the excitement of a younger generation of drivers ready to challenge the veteran field. Blake Williams brings back his Mc Clintock and Turk Ford Fusion along with Garrett Sawyer and his TK Construction Chevrolet.

With over thirty drivers pre registering the evening looks to be full of action for all ages. Also appearing are the Hobby Stocks and Pro Four Modifieds. Racing action starts at 7:15 with spectator gates opening at 5:00 PM. Pit gates open at noon; drivers and teams are encouraged to use the online tower info registration for all your team info at scrsuperoval.com. Advance tickets still on sale at half price just $6.00 or $12.00 at the gate. Come one come all let’s get ready for some super fast racing action this Saturday night at the Super Oval at Spokane County Raceway.

Friday night racing features the Hot 96.9 Road Runners, Zips Pony Stock and The Motion Auto Supply Bump to Pass. All the action starts at 7:15PM gates open at 5:00PM pits open at 2:00PM.
