KALISPELL, Mont. (May 5, 2010)-The celebration of two decades of racing on
the high banks of Montana Raceway Park fires up Saturday night as the
Flathead Valley’s only professional sporting venue enters the 2010 season
with Super Stocks, Legends, Bombers, Crusin’ Compacts and Bandoleros set
to take part in over 100 laps of main event action.

Coca-Cola sponsors this weekend’s racing action and is the official soft
drink company of Montana Raceway Park’s 20th Anniversary season.

Jason Robinson returns as the defending champion of the Super Stock
division but off-season rules changes have found more competitors entering
the season opener in preparation for challenging Robinson’s recent
dominance of the class. One driver to watch over the course of the season
will be Robinson’s brother, Josh, who finished second in the 2009 points
chase.

Adam Kinkel, Lonnie Barnett and Dan Morris have al shaken down improved
chassis configurations in their attempt to dethrone the Robinson reign.

Jake Bisett, a sophomore at Freeman High School in Valleyford, Wash.,
returns to defend his championship in the Westward Bound
Construction/Keller Williams Realty Legends Series with hopes of remaining
champion while gearing up for June’s 9th Annual Legends Thunder event.

Bisset isn’t the only student in the field aiming for a championship as
Giles Thornton, who picked up a Legends win earlier this spring at the Las
Vegas Bullring, will be running a full season in his attempt to capture
the title. Add to that pair rising star Devin Clayton who will also be
running his first full season in the 1200cc Yamaha-powered race cars.

Others to watch include veterans Tyler Corpron, Joe Bisset, Zach Havens
and Wrango West which gives Montana Raceway Park one of the strongest
Legend series drivers roster in the Northwest.

MRP’s Flathead Beacon Bomber division will also feature a strong group of
drivers chasing defending champion Jason Young for the top spot in 2010.
One driver that may be a pre-season favorite is Dave Berglund who came on
strong towards the end of last year and just missed the division title by
19 points.

Berglund has run strong in testing as has Bill McCallum (3rd in ’09
points) with Matt Gollehon also showing some spring strength in practice
sessions.

A new series name but a familiar driver greets the four-cylinder racers as
2010 marks the first season of competition in MRP’s Flathead Beacon
Crusin’ Compact division.

Fran Rehn is the defending series champion in her beautiful red Ford
Mustang II. Out to knock the lady racer off the top-spot in this year’s
drivers standings will be runner-up Tim Davis and Marvin Stone (3rd in ’09
points). The group’s Ms. Consistency, Nancy Davis, will also be out to put
her name atop the standings as the group’s second consecutive female
champion.

The Bandoleros class features a wide-open battle for the championship as
Dalton Halden and Tristan Corpron will vie for top honors. Several
newcomers will add to the growing division as rookie drivers have joined
the class for 2010 making this one of the fastest growing classes at MRP
heading into the new year.
